So the first interview now happens before yours

Engineers record a technical interview for your role. AI reviews the recordings, a human expert checks the ones that stand out, and only the 2-3 strongest matches for your role reach your shortlist.

  1. Prompt: walk us through a production problem you fixed, and what you traded off.

  2. Checkout started timing out on busy evenings. Before touching code, I pulled traces for the slow requests.

  3. One query scanned the whole orders table. An index fixed the read, but the stock check still blocked payment.

  4. So I moved the stock check onto a queue. Payment no longer waits for it.

  5. The cost is that stock can be a few seconds stale. We show "reserved" instead of "in stock", so the page stays honest.

  6. I wrote a runbook so the on-call engineer could roll it back in one step.

  7. If I did it again, I would load test before the sale, not during it.

  8. My question for your team: where does your data go stale today?

How the AI hiring engine works

On subscription, six steps take a role from description to shortlist. For a permanent hire, a person on our team runs the search.

  1. 1

    Ready now

Describe a role and see pre-selected matches from our ready pool, with monthly rates and why they fit. Some have an interview video.

  2. 2

    Confirm

Confirm the role to start the full search. We check a few details first, then engineers record interviews for your role.

  3. 3

    Sourcing

Our AI agents take your brief beyond the ready pool into our wider network and draft the outreach to find more engineers.

  4. 4

    Vetting

CVs become structured profiles, and each shortlisted engineer gets a written technical assessment with a score.

  5. 5

    Interviewing

Engineers record a technical interview for your role, with AI + human review. You watch it and read the transcript before your own interview.

  6. 6

    Matched

The engine proposes a shortlist, and a talent manager makes the final selection. You request interviews with the engineers you choose.

This is where you hire

Search in plain words. Filter by experience, availability, start date and country. Open a profile, watch the interview, then request yours.

Common questions about hiring with Wild.Codes

How much does it cost to hire an engineer through Wild.Codes?

On subscription, the monthly rate is $6,400 to $9,600 per engineer, and it is the all-in cost: payroll, contracts, compliance and PTO are handled by Wild.Codes under one B2B contract, with nothing added on top. The rate appears on the match card before you decide. Subscription has no placement fee and a 160-hour monthly minimum. A permanent hire carries a one-time fee from 12% of the engineer's annual salary, paid only when you hire. There is no cost until you hire.

How fast can I hire an engineer?

On the subscription line, the full search returns a shortlist of 2-3 candidates within 47 hours after you confirm the role. For a permanent hire, the first vetted candidates arrive within 5 workdays. Neither figure is a start date: the start date depends on the engineer's availability and on your own interview.

Who is Wild.Codes for?

Wild.Codes is for CTOs, VPs and heads of engineering, and for founders with a technical owner, who have a specific engineering role to fill and a budget for it. It serves startups and SMEs. Heads of people and in-house recruiters running a permanent search can use it for a permanent hire. It is a poor fit if the engineering work is not defined yet.

Who are the engineers on Wild.Codes?

Wild.Codes has a pool of 15,000+ engineers in Eastern Europe and LATAM, including QA, DevOps and data engineers. The first matches you see come from the ready pool, the engineers available today. The full search then reaches beyond the ready pool into our wider network to find more engineers for your role.

How does Wild.Codes find and vet engineers?

On subscription, in the full search, our AI agents take your brief beyond the ready pool and draft the outreach to find more engineers. Each shortlisted engineer gets a written technical assessment with a score, and CVs become structured profiles. For your role, engineers record a technical interview. AI reviews the recorded interviews, which lets us interview many engineers at once, and a human expert checks the strongest. A talent manager makes the final selection, so you see the 2-3 strongest matches for your role and watch their interviews before your own. For a permanent hire, a person on our team runs the search, and the shortlist carries recorded interviews too.

How is Wild.Codes different from recruiting agencies, freelance marketplaces and software outsourcing?

A recruiting agency sends CVs and charges a fee on hire, commonly 20-25% of annual salary. A freelance marketplace gives you a catalog to filter and vet yourself. A software studio sells fixed-price delivery of a project. Wild.Codes matches you with individual engineers who work under your management. On subscription, you can watch recorded technical interviews and see a monthly rate before you spend interview time. A permanent hire through Wild.Codes carries a one-time fee from 12% of the engineer's annual salary, paid only when you hire.

Should I hire by subscription or as a permanent employee?

Choose subscription when an engineer should work on your team under your management and you want Wild.Codes to handle payroll, contracts, compliance and PTO. Choose a permanent hire when you want an employee on your own payroll and contract, for a one-time fee from 12% of the engineer's annual salary, paid only when you hire. Subscription is billed monthly per engineer.

How do remote developers work with my team?

On subscription, the engineer joins your team and works remotely under your management. Wild.Codes handles payroll, contracts, compliance and PTO under one B2B contract, so you do not run payroll or compliance for engineers abroad. After the hire, the engineer appears on the My team page in the app, and Wild.Codes stays in the engagement.

What happens if an engineer does not work out?

Subscription starts with a 1-week trial and includes lifetime replacement, so an engineer who does not work out is replaced. Before any hire, you review the match, choose who to meet and run your own interview, so the decision stays with you.

How long do engineers stay with a client?

On the subscription line, average retention is about 1.5 years. Wild.Codes stays in the engagement after the hire, the first week is a trial, and lifetime replacement covers an engineer who does not work out. The retention figure applies to subscription only, not to permanent hires.

Where are the engineers based, and what about time zones?

Engineers come from Eastern Europe and LATAM. The app filters profiles by experience, availability, start date and country, so you can narrow the search to countries whose working day overlaps with yours. The company has been in Estonia and Ukraine since 2022. Monthly rates are shown in dollars.

How do I start hiring with Wild.Codes?

Describe the role at app.wild.codes/hire and see pre-selected matches with a monthly rate on each, without a call. Confirm the role to start the full search. We check a few details first, then engineers record interviews for your role. If we need more from you we write back, and a call is available if you prefer one.
