Background
eRenovate, a Canadian company, was born from the frustrations of homeowners who had their fair share of renovation disappointments. With a commitment to offering Peace of Mind through the eRenovate Guarantee, their mission is clear: to be a positive force in the renovation and home improvement industry.

Headquartered in Toronto, eRenovate initially served Southern Ontario and expanded to numerous Canadian cities across the country in 2019.
Challenge
eRenovate faced the daunting task of delivering the first version of their product within just 4 months, aiming to showcase it at the prestigious Toronto Home Shows, a major industry event in Canada.

Having previously collaborated with the Wild.Codes LAB team for design and front-end development, eRenovate decided to entrust the entire development of their new web product to this trusted partner.

With tight deadlines, our team embarked on building a complex user flow for the app, recognizing the considerable challenge of launching within the given 4-month timeframe.

Solution

The project's primary objective was to develop a new application seamlessly integrated with the existing platform. Our engineering team began by researching the backend code and database architecture of the current platform.

To meet the deadlines, we employed a modern single-page-application approach using Vue.js for frontend development, emphasizing a mobile-first experience for the eRenovate Guarantee app.

To ensure adaptability for rapid changes, we adopted the agile Scrum approach, featuring weekly sprints and demos. Each iteration underwent meticulous refinement to perfect all product features.

Recognizing the need for extensive demos and pitches, we provided robust post-project support, with our management and tech team available seven days a week for quick responses to client requests.

  • Real-time messaging within the platform, system notifications.
  • Project scope builder. Core functionality. Allows users to create projects which may include milestones, budget, deadlines, list of materials, attachments, etc.
  • PayPal integration. MailChimp integration for transaction letters.
  • Invoicing module. Allows contractors are able to issue invoices.
  • Ticket System. Allow to report issues regarding users' projects and to resolve them together with their contractors and Erenovate support via group chat.
