Senior engineers for teams in the Gulf
This page is for companies in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the rest of the region that need senior engineers without building a local hiring pipeline for each role. Our subscription engineers work from Eastern Europe and Latin America; for a Gulf team, Eastern Europe is the practical choice because of the hours. The GCC, Saudi Arabia included, is one of our client markets: we have worked with a client in Kuwait since April 2024.
We do not have engineers based in the Middle East. The profiles above show the seniority and monthly rates you can expect from Eastern Europe.
Time zones and the working week
Kyiv, Bucharest and Sofia are 1 to 2 hours behind Dubai and up to 1 hour behind Riyadh, Kuwait City and Doha, depending on the season. Warsaw and Prague are one hour further behind.
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar work Sunday to Thursday, so the week you share with an engineer in Europe runs Monday to Thursday. Agree how Sundays are covered when you confirm the role. Most companies in the UAE work Monday to Friday, the same week as Europe.
How hiring works
On a subscription the engineer is full time on your product, at least 160 hours a month, and stays on our contract: payroll, contracts, compliance and PTO are ours to handle. A senior engineer costs $6,400 to $9,600 a month, all-in, and there is no placement fee.
If you want the engineer on your own payroll, choose a permanent hire. We search our own pool and the open market where the role is, and charge 12% of annual salary, with a $2,000 minimum, on the start date. One free replacement within 60 days is included. Both options are on our pricing page.
Describe your role and see pre-selected engineers, with a monthly rate on each. Describing the role, seeing matches and interviewing cost nothing; you pay once an engineer starts.
