Structured vetting process

How we vet senior engineers

In the full search, engineers record a timed video interview for your role. AI scores it, a human expert checks the score, and you watch it before you interview anyone.

How the AI hiring engine works

Five steps from a role to an interviewed shortlist. For a permanent hire, the engine also searches the open market, and a talent manager reviews its work.

  1. Step 01

    Ready pool

Describe the role and see pre-selected engineers who are free today, with a monthly rate on each.

  2. Step 02

    Sourcing

Confirm the role, and our headhunter agent takes your brief beyond the ready pool and drafts the outreach.

  3. Step 03

    Vetting

CVs become structured profiles, and each shortlisted engineer gets a scored written assessment.

  4. Step 04

    Interviewing

Engineers take a timed video interview for your role: AI writes the questions, each gives a minute to think, then the camera starts. AI + human review. You watch it before your own interview.

  5. Step 05

    Matched

The engine proposes a shortlist, and a talent manager makes the final selection.

On subscription, the shortlist of 2-3 candidates lands within 47 hours after you confirm the role. For a permanent hire through Direct Hire, the first vetted candidates arrive within 5 workdays. Neither figure is a start date.

Where a polished CV stops helping

ChatGPT and Claude make every CV look perfect. So we watch engineers explain their work against a clock.

AI reviews. A human expert checks.

Candidates for your role take the same timed video interview, so many are interviewed in parallel. AI scores the recorded answers, and a human expert checks those scores before anyone makes the shortlist.

Keywords don't survive a timed interview

AI writes the technical questions for your role. The engineer gets about a minute to read each question and think, then recording starts automatically, so a rehearsed CV line does not carry the answer.

A structured profile and a score

The CV becomes a structured profile: the stack, the years with each tool and notes from the review. Each shortlisted engineer also gets a written technical assessment with a score.

A talent manager signs off

The engine proposes a shortlist, and a talent manager makes the final selection. You watch the interviews and read the transcripts before you spend your own interview time.

15,000+ engineers

In Eastern Europe and LATAM

About 3 in 4 engineers in the ready pool have five or more years of experience. For your role, our headhunter agent also searches beyond it.

What you see before your own interview

  • The monthly rate on the card, before you decide to meet anyone
  • A structured profile: stack, years with each tool and review notes
  • The scored written technical assessment
  • Timed video interviews from the full search, with transcripts to read
  • Who made the final selection: your talent manager

Questions about vetting

How does Wild.Codes vet developers?

In the full search for your role, the CV becomes a structured profile and each shortlisted engineer gets a scored written assessment. In the full search, engineers take a timed video interview for your role. AI scores the recordings, a human expert checks those scores, and a talent manager makes the final selection before you see the shortlist.

What is the timed video interview?

AI writes the technical questions for your role. The engineer logs in, gets about a minute to read each question and think, and then recording starts automatically, question after question. It runs under time pressure. There is no AI interviewer: engineers answer to camera, and you can watch the recording and read the transcript.

Who reviews the interviews, AI or people?

Both. AI scores the recorded answers, which lets many engineers be interviewed for one role at once. A human expert checks those scores, and a talent manager makes the final selection for your shortlist. The engine proposes candidates and a person signs off before anyone reaches you. You still run your own interview.

What do I see before my own interview?

On subscription, the shortlist shows each engineer's structured profile, scored written assessment and monthly rate. In the full search, engineers take a timed video interview for your role, so you can watch it and read the transcript before you spend your own interview time and choose who to meet.

How long does vetting take?

Vetting runs inside the full search. On subscription, the shortlist of 2-3 candidates arrives within 47 hours after you confirm the role. For a permanent hire through Direct Hire, the first vetted candidates arrive within 5 workdays. Neither figure is a start date, which depends on the engineer's availability and your own interview.

Where do the engineers come from?

From a pool of 15,000+ engineers in Eastern Europe and LATAM. Most are senior or lead: in the ready pool, about 3 in 4 have five or more years of experience. In the full search, our headhunter agent takes your brief beyond the ready pool, and for a permanent hire the engine also searches the open market.

Are pre-selected matches vetted the same way?

Pre-selected matches are a preview of engineers in the ready pool who are free today, with a monthly rate on each. Some carry an interview recorded before your role existed. Interviews for your role belong to the full search, which starts when you confirm the role and we check a few details about your company.

What if a vetted engineer does not work out?

Subscription starts with a 1-week trial and includes lifetime replacement, so an engineer who does not work out is replaced. With Direct Hire, you get one free replacement within 60 days from the start date. In both cases you review the match and run your own interview, so the hiring decision stays with you.

Does vetting cost anything?

No. Seeing matches, confirming the role, the full search and the interviews cost nothing. You pay only when you hire, which means when the engineer starts: a monthly rate on subscription, or with Direct Hire a one-time fee from 12% of the engineer's annual salary, paid on the start date.
